Family TERMITOPHRYIDAE Lom, n. fam.
Scopula produces unique pad-like disc as organelle of attachment~ body is of an inverted cone-shape, with reduced area of oral ciliature and long, helical infundibulum; endocommensals (in the intestine) of certain African termites.
[Lom has for some time been planning establishment of this family; by coincidence, Jankowski (1975) also named it but included no description or characterization. The group is credited to Lom, as of the date of the present publication.]
